Let's talk about positivity this blog....:)

As many of you already know that June at Vanity Room has been all about positivity, hope and less stress, so this blog is going to share a little more....

*****************************************
There was a great man named Ralph Waldo Emerson who lived about 200 years ago, who had it sooo right about positive attitude. Here are a few of his quotes....

'Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air'

'The ancestor of every action is a thought'

'When it is darkest, men see the stars'

'The earth laughs in flowers'

'Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising every time we fail'

'The first wealth is health'

and my favourite....

'To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment'

Apparently things haven't changed much in 200 years! :)

LETS TALK POSITIVE FOOD!!!

Warm quinoa, spinach, and shitake salad

Fights depression and anxiety. Quinoa’s not only an awesome vegan protein source—it’s also a complex carbohydrate that can help prevent depression and anxiety by increasing levels of serotonin in the brain. And beyond the mood-boosting B vitamins in spinach, mushrooms are a source of selenium, a compound that may help fight depression  . This superfood-packed salad's got all the goods! Check out http://greatist.com/happiness/25-meals-boost-your-mood for other great mood boosting foods and meals.....Thanks also to marthastewart.com for the great shot!

Meaning and feelings of colours....
I find this topic quite interesting and I thought I would share just a little of colour meanings with you....

There are positives and negatives for all colours, which you need to be aware of before surrounding yourself in a particular colour or tone...

Red: (physical) positives: strength, warmth, energy and excitement
                               negatives: aggression, defiance and strain

Blue: (intellectual) positives: intuition, trust, reflection and calm
                                       negatives: unfriendliness, aloofness and coldness

Yellow: (emotional) positives: optimism, confidence and creativity
                                        negatives: fear, irrationality and critisism

Green: (balance) positives: harmony, balance and restoration
                                  negatives: boredom, blandness and stagnation

Violet (spiritual) positives: truth, luxury, spiritual awareness
                                  negatives: suppression, inferiority and introversion

Thanks to 'the colour psychology' for this very interesting read!!
